11th-12th Grade, Full Year This course provides a survey of fundamental physics topics including kinematics and dynamics, vectors, circular motion, rotational motions, work and energy in linear motion, linear momentum, simple harmonic motion, wave motions, sound, and basic concepts of electricity (electrical field, currents, and DC circuits). HS Foreign Language Dept. Spanish I Required

9th Grade, Full Year Spanish 1 gives the beginning student the vocabulary necessary to communicate on a basic level with Spanish speakers on a variety of familiar subjects such as school, home, daily activities, etc. Spanish worship songs and Bible verses will be incorporated throughout the course. The student will learn how to formulate sentences and dialogues through listening, speaking, reading and writing with a focus on the present tense. Cultural activities will accompany language lessons to acquaint students with food, artistic expression, and diversity of the Spanish speaking world. Curriculum: Auténtico 1, Pearson Education Spanish II Required Instructor: Mr. Jason Schoff 10th Grade, Full Year Through thematic units, students in Spanish II will expand their skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural awareness. Students will develop a functional command of words and phrases that deal with immediate needs and common everyday situations or while traveling in limited situations. The content and vocabulary will expand to include the use of familiar words and phrases applicable with normal commands, frequent instructions, and courtesy exchanges. Students will expand their use of the present tense and be able to recognize and properly use the past tense. These skills will also be applied to Spanish worship songs and Bible verses that build upon previous learning. Curriculum: Auténtico 1, Pearson Education Spanish III Elective Instructor: Mr. Jason Schoff 11th-12th Grade, Full Year In Spanish III, students continue to develop their proficiency in speaking, listening, writing and reading with an increased emphasis on speaking and listening exercises. Students will understand oral and written messages, including a short Spanish novel, in the target language and will make level appropriate oral and written presentations. Students will learn to communicate on a variety of topics using complex structures, moving from concrete to more abstract concepts. They will comprehend the main ideas of authentic materials that they read and hear, and are able to identify significant details when topics are familiar. These skills will continue to be applied to Spanish worship songs and Bible verses mirror the grammar and concepts in the course. Curriculum: Auténtico 2, Pearson Education
