2025-26 Academic Catalog for HCA Upper School

Course Registration As you prepare for the upcoming academic year, please review the following course registration guidelines carefully. This process is designed to support thoughtful academic planning in partnership with HCA faculty and administration. Core Courses All core academic courses—English, Math, Science, History, and Bible—will be automatically assigned based on the student’s academic progression. Placement into Honors-level sections of core classes will be determined by teacher recommendation. No additional registration is required for core courses. Elective Course Selection Students are responsible for selecting their elective courses during the registration period. We encourage families to explore this catalog thoroughly to gain a full understanding of the diverse elective options available across disciplines such as fine arts, STEM, and humanities. Enrollment Planning Guide We strongly recommend using the Enrollment Planning Guide provided in this catalog to assist with long-term academic planning. This tool helps families track credit completion and graduation requirements throughout a student’s time in the Upper School.

Important Considerations

● Many courses have limited enrollment capacity. In the event of scheduling conflicts or space limitations, upperclassmen will be given preference to ensure completion of graduation requirements. ● While every effort will be made to honor student preferences, elective placements are subject to availability and master schedule constraints. If you have questions about course selection or planning, please contact the Upper School office or schedule a meeting with the Director of College Guidance.
