To be considered for HCA credit, outside courses must: ● Be necessary for extenuating circumstances. ● Be pre-approved by the Director of College Guidance. ● Be aligned with HCA’s academic standards, including rigor, syllabus, and learning objectives. ● Be offered by an accredited institution. ● Result in an official transcript or completion record submitted directly to the Director of College Guidance. As a matter of academic integrity, an HCA diploma should reflect an HCA-approved education. Substitutions for required courses will be rare and granted only when extenuating circumstances apply. Honor Roll & Grading Scale At Heritage Christian Academy, we are committed to cultivating academic excellence and recognizing students who demonstrate consistent achievement in their coursework. Honor Roll Distinctions Honor Roll is acknowledged at the end of each academic semester and reflects a student’s weighted Grade Point Average (GPA) based on completed coursework for that quarter. ● Principal’s Honor Roll: 4.00 and above ● High Honor Roll: 3.85 – 3.99 ● Honor Roll: 3.70 – 3.84 Grading Scale ● HCA uses a 4.0 GPA scale for standard high school courses. ● Approved honor and dual credit courses are weighted on a 5.0 scale to reflect their increased rigor and college-level expectations. These GPA values are used for class rank, semester grades, and academic honors at graduation.
