S ince launching in February 2025, BIFA Bitesize has seen more than 2,800 employees of BIFA corporate members accessing the various modules and completing over 12,000 courses. The brand-new Dangerous Goods Awareness module has been designed to provide essential knowledge for a wide range of roles within the logistics and freight forwarding sector. While particularly relevant for those directly handling dangerous goods, the course delivers valuable insights for all staff involved in the supply chain. The course covers: • The regulatory bodies that exist and their responsibilities, • The types of dangerous goods and their classification, • An explanation of UN numbers, • The Dangerous Goods Note (DGN), • Advice on the safe packing, labelling and handling of these goods, • Ensuring compliance when moving this type of shipment; and the consequences and penalties that may result from non-compliance.
