Girl Scouts will explore the basics of competition ’que—from sauces and rubs to flavor profiles, food safety, and grilling techniques— before cooking up their own delicious creations. This sizzling evening of fun includes snacks, hands-on learning, and an exclusive American Royal patch to take home. Location: American Royal Association (1701 American Royal Court, Kansas City, MO 64102) Cost: $5.50 per participant Buddies at The Barn: Girl Scouts and American Royal Spring Livestock Show Date: March 27 from 5:30pm- 7:30pm Age Level: B Step into the world of agriculture at the American Royal! Meet veterinarians, learn how to care for farm animals, and discover what it takes to raise and show cattle, sheep, pigs, and goats. This hands-on, family-friendly event gives Girl Scouts an up-close look at life on the farm—and includes a special American Royal patch to take home. From how elephants eat to how kangaroos leap and octopuses hide, you’ll explore patterns, measurements, and movement through hands-on activities and a guided Zoo tour. Inspired by the book The House That She Built, Girl Scouts will create their own construction project, explore careers in building and design, and meet real women shaping the industry.
