E very user of manual ratchet crimping tools knows that after a day’s work the strain on your hand can be felt. A battery-powered alternative sounds very attractive, but how beneficial can it be? The Klauke Micro shows it doesn’t have to be big to take on a heavy load. Compact and lightweight, it weighs less than 1kg and has 2K soft grips, fitting comfortably in the hand. The tool jaws respond from the manual action of pulling the tool’s operation lever. Installers can “feel” the connector and make sure it is positioned correctly. With the connector “pre-clamped”, a further squeeze of the trigger delivers power to the 10.8V motor, completing the crimp with minimal handle load for all sizes, whether 0.5mm 2 or 16mm 2 . (IPS) ensures every crimp is fully completed and the jaws fully closed. If the crimp is not completed correctly, the tool emits an audible and visual alarm. When used with the Klauke iPress® software, it creates time and date-stamped quality certificates, improving traceability for any manufacturer. This means more crimps can be made, for a longer period, with consistent quality results and without causing strain to the user.
The new range of ferrule crimping dies ensures a tight crimp in any cable type, from 0.5 – 50mm 2 , including double- entry ferrules. This is accomplished by a new interlocking comb style die-set that guarantees a reliable connection every time. For more information or to request
