Small and mighty For 2022, the engineers have adopted new-generation componentry to design even more features into the super-compact energy-saving Night Eye PIR lighting range. When these Night Eyes were first launched, few people believed that such small units could pack so much power (the body measures just 160x60x50 mm) but seeing was believing. The next step Timeguard took was to “hide” the PIR detector within the main body. That meant even better looks, but also protection for the detectors from mechanical damage and prevention of unwanted intruders by adjusting the angle of the PIR and so changing the detection field. The new 180° PIR detectors offer even more efficient illumination. The single or twin heads are reduced from 10/20W to 8.5/17W yet give even better output at 1000 lumens per head. The single-head version can be twisted right around to provide “wall wash” up-lighting. These lights include a slave terminal for control of up to 100W extra LED lighting, and four of these floodlights can now be wired in parallel to enable any detector to turn them all ON, with adjustable ON time from ten seconds to 30 minutes.
