Taking In Life’s Moments

15-minute workout served my body. And it continues to help me heal. I deserve it and thrive on it. Building From Within You also deserve pockets of self-love, but you don’t have to wait for the new year to tell you it’s time. Now’s the time, and whatever you choose to do, make sure you are choosing the action that will serve you. You’re a woman of service, and I know it’s easy to let the pursuit of perfection swallow up your self-care moments. Find where you can give yourself the grace to release the expectations you have set for yourself. Lower yourself from the pedestal you are standing on, my love. Remember, you cannot fill a cup that is broken. Before you begin to move forward with your goals, you have to build yourself up. It’s best to serve from your saucer, not your cup. With any goal you set, there has to be a monumental shift in how you think of yourself. It takes radical self-love to find the healing you need. Our goals are predicated on it. I know you have the strength inside you! Break down the barriers standing between you and your goals by discovering the power you hold within yourself. The year may be nearly over, but the calendar doesn’t dictate how and when you place value on yourself and the moments you choose. Love, you can make a difference in your life in the final days of 2019! Don’t commit to change in 2020 until you have built a foundation that is going to empower you to make real improvements.

So, how did this year go for you? Did you accomplish everything you set out to do, or were your plans derailed? If they were, you’re not alone! Research tells us that New Year’s resolutions are difficult to keep, and I know this can be especially true when you don’t enter the year with the right mindset. And, truthfully, it doesn’t matter how you fared! What matters most is that you reflect on how you can better serve yourself. Think about it this way. We always have two reactions as the new year approaches. There are those who see the end of the year coming and panic. They think, “Oh, my goodness! All these goals from the beginning of the year are never going to get done. I might as well wait until 2020.” Then there are those who see the closing of a year and panic in a different way … and they scramble, rushing about trying to fit a year’s worth of goals into 30 days. And here’s the secret: You don’t have to place so much emphasis on the calendar! We are the drivers of our own destiny. Every day we’re given a gift, and we decide what to focus on. Remember, how you approach the end of the year is just as important as what you do. It’s the tasks you do each day that move the needle forward on your goals. It’s the moments you are present that count. I encourage you to find ways to do what is good for you. Maybe it’s a daily walk or one of my quick, full-body workout regimens. Find the coziest

chair in your home and settle in with a cup of tea or yummy Cacao Bliss hot chocolate. (This is one of my favorite things to do!) Watch the snow lightly fall outside, or listen to your kids play and giggle. Set aside a few minutes each day to journal three things you are grateful for. Find these moments by asking, “What can I do to serve my body? Does it need rest? Does it need fuel? Am I craving connection, and whom can I call?” I find my moments in daily workouts. As you may know, when I was healing from the loss of my infant son, I relied on my body to sustain me. My heart had broken into thousands of tiny pieces, and on days when it felt my soul may never be put back together again, I knew I had to keep moving. I used sweat therapy to push myself further and find the strength I didn’t even know existed. Busting out a “Letting go of the expectation for perfection and, instead, focusing on your truth is the most vital tool for achieving the goals you set. You learn to value yourself, and you have more fun, too!”

The most important piece of your success is you.

And, sister, you’ve got this!
