2025 Queensland Exploration Scorecard

CHART 4.4.4 EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY

0

Sentiment captured this year solidifies the improving trend for equipment availability seen over the last few years. Explorers’ perception of accessibility to vital exploration equipment, including drill rigs, trucks, and machinery, is the best it’s been in 5 years even though it’s still unfavourable. This improved assessment is likely reflective of the drop in intensity of exploration activity in Queensland.

CHART 4.4.5 PERCEPTION

OF RESOURCES PROSPECTIVITY AND ENDOWMENT

0

Queensland’s resource prospectivity continues to garner strong positive sentiment for the 15th consecutive year, with a small improvement compared to the previous year. Queensland’s resource prospectivity and endowment is the highest-rated category for explorers. The majority of respondents have consistently expressed favourable views regarding Queensland’s resource prospectivity. Notably, this year saw a significant decline in prospectivity sentiment across other jurisdictions, effectively narrowing the gap between Queensland and its counterparts. Explorers in the Queensland petroleum and minerals sectors remained highly optimistic about this category. The positive sentiment from petroleum explorers is an improvement from last year and could be reflective of the nine exploration land area releases for tender from the Department in 2025.
