SPOTLIGHT ON MINERALS TENURE APPLICATIONS
Chart 5.1 shows the vastness of mineral tenure and tenure applications in Queensland. Total granted tenure for mineral exploration encompasses an extensive 277,020 sq km, with a further 78,840 sq km under application. During 2024-25, the number of EPM applications lodged increased from the previous financial year. However, there was an even greater increase in the number of EPM applications processed and EPMs granted, thus reducing the number of EPM applications on hand at the end of the financial year.
