A NEW APPROACH TO DENTISTRY
SAY HELLO TO DION HEALTH
So, I earned my MBA and founded Dion Health. My dentistry work is now limited as I dedicate my time as CEO to running and expanding the company. At the time of writing, we have seven locations and intend to add five more over the next quarter. We aim to offer a health care model that connects dentistry, medicine, and cosmetics while also revolutionizing the diagnosis and operation model prevalent in the industry. My other passions include philosophy, psychology, and ethnological musicology, so I believe in taking a holistic, long-view approach to life and medicine. Dr. Maddahi’s practice perfectly fits our vision because he shares a similar philosophy. He has long discussed the effects our dental health can have on the rest of our bodies and vice versa. Our partnership will provide his office with additional infrastructure and a multi-specialty team to expand upon his prior work.
Nothing makes me prouder than the continued trust and support of you, our patients. I’m excited to announce that we will now offer you more services and a higher level of care than ever before. My office will soon be rebranded as Dion Health Beverly Hills, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the health care provider’s founder, Dr. Amin Samadian. I am handing over the rest of the cover to Dr. Samadian to introduce himself, his philosophy, and some details about the expanded care we can now provide.

Doctors frequently practice medicine in silos. Different medical professionals treat your heart and your teeth while rarely considering how conditions affecting both body parts may be connected. I aim to change this patchwork approach to medical care
by bridging the gaps between specialties and addressing the root cause of patient issues.
Dion Health has already begun renovating the office and bringing proprietary technology and treatment protocols. Our integrated medicine model now treats conditions like sleep apnea, head and neck pain,
My father was a dentist, and I decided to follow in his footsteps. I received my degree and practiced for several years in my home country of Iran before moving to the United States in 2013. In 2016, I received my second doctorate from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and began performing reconstructive dentistry for the university.
and nasal problems. We are also adding medical spa services like Botox, fillers, laser peels, and skin care products. Our membership program, new financing options, and in-house laboratory services will benefit patients.
I’ve always loved how dentistry integrates art, science, and technology into one field. But I saw many patients go undertreated for conditions like sleep apnea, diabetes, and TMJ. Dental concerns often point to an underlying medical problem that goes unexplored. Treating the patient’s teeth only is a temporary strategy, and I wanted to approach this work differently.
We are off to a fantastic start in our partnership, and I can’t wait to see what
the future holds. I aim to meet more patient needs in Beverly Hills than ever before, and I’m excited to have you join us on this revolutionary journey. -Dr. Amin Samadian

While summer is a favorite season for many, it’s also a time when people start slacking in their sustainability efforts. They start using more air conditioning or try other environmentally unfriendly methods. While there are certainly some days when we need the A/C, there are many more we can survive without it. In addition to turning off the air conditioner, there are other things we can do regularly to ensure a sustainable summer. GOING GREEN FOR SUMMER Sustainable Living Made Simple
Get your produce from farmers markets. Farmers markets offer a great selection of local produce and other foods. If you’ve never been or don’t go regularly, you should make a habit of going as often as you can. Not only are you supporting local businesses and farmers, but you’re also helping the environment since you’re buying from vendors that don’t have to travel far to sell their products. Avoid using disposable products. Summer is the best time for picnics, and many will try to use Styrofoam cups and plastic utensils for easy cleanup. However, these items are incredibly harmful to the environment! Rather than buying single-use items, bring Tupperware or other reusable containers, and be sure to clean up after yourself.
Here are a few practices to incorporate into your life this summer that will be less damaging to the environment than the alternatives.
Control your home temperature and lighting. We all know how refreshing it can feel to walk into an air-conditioned home after a hot summer day, but air conditioners use a lot of energy. Instead of relying on the A/C, utilize your fans more often or open your windows after the sun goes down. Don’t leave your air conditioner on if you’re leaving the house for more than a few hours.
Also, keep in mind that summer brings more sunlight, which means we can open the curtains and let the sunshine in instead of turning on a few lights.
IMPLANTS ARE IN Do Dentures Still Have a Place?
Implants have revolutionized cosmetic dentistry, as they’re a permanent solution to missing teeth that generally look better and are more comfortable than dentures. With all the advancements that have been made, it makes sense to wonder whether dentures are still worthwhile and why someone might choose them over implants. Dentists usually agree implants are a preferred solution for most people. Patients can care for their dental implants like their natural teeth, while dentures require unique hygiene procedures. Further, implants look more natural, and most patients find chewing and speaking with them easier. People who receive implants also don’t have to worry about embarrassing mishaps that can come with removable teeth. But the most significant health benefit of implants over dentures is how they stimulate your jawbone. When we lose teeth, our jawbones deteriorate, and other facial muscles can weaken. Implants involve attaching surgical posts to the jaw. These metal reinforcements strengthen the bone and promote the pressure and movement it needs to remain healthy.
support implant structures. So, people with unhealthy or weakened jaws are poor candidates for implants, and dentures remain the best option to restore normal appearance and function.
There are other reasons some patients prefer dentures. While dentures must be periodically replaced and may cost more money over time, the upfront cost of implants is significantly higher than that of dentures. The timelines also pose a problem for some people. Dentists cannot complete a full mouth of implants in one session; the body needs time to heal between surgeries. The process usually takes several months to a year, while most patients receive their dentures in a few weeks. Every patient has different needs, and Dr. Maddahi and his team will be happy to determine the best option to restore your smile, confidence, and comfort. Call our office today to book a consultation to discuss all your options.
However, the problem of poor jawbone density is why implants will only work for some patients. A person who has lost too much bone cannot

The Health Risks of Oral Jewelry
Why Shiny Adornments Aren’t Always Safe
Body modification trends come and go, but piercings have remained a popular method of self-expression for decades. We typically see piercing as a safe way to decorate ourselves, but the process always comes with health risks. Oral piercings on the lip, tongue, or cheek are no exception, and the dangers might be more severe than you realize. All piercings pose the risk of blood-borne diseases like hepatitis B and C or infection at the piercing site. Nerve damage is also a possible negative permanent side effect. These are reasons to always choose a reputable piercer — to reduce the risk of adverse outcomes. But even when everything goes right during the piercing and healing process, oral jewelry can cause damage over time. Research shows that 50% of patients with lip piercings and 44% of those with tongue piercings suffer from gingival recession. This gum disease exposes the root of your tooth and can be very painful, and your gum tissue can’t grow back. Metal hitting the teeth can also cause chips and fractures; 26% of people with tongue piercings experience tooth damage.
Refer a Friend, Get a Brighter Smile! That’s right! Every time you refer a friend to Dr. Maddahi, you get one FREE teeth cleaning! plus built-up plaque. Removable grills or fronts placed over the teeth are also a cause of concern. While studies do not yet show grills are harmful to your oral health, there is also little evidence proving their safety. For all the reasons listed above, the American Dental Association recommends against oral piercing and other forms of tooth adornment. But if you have oral jewelry, there are steps you can take to make the risk of complications less likely. Specifically, avoid playing with the jewelry using either your hands or tongue. Dentists also recommend avoiding the urge to tap your teeth with the metal, cleaning the jewelry regularly, and wearing it as infrequently as possible. Of course, robust oral health routines like brushing, flossing, and using mouthwash also help. Oral jewelry can be fun and make people feel good about themselves. But anyone considering them should know the risks involved. A temporary fad is not usually worth permanent damage to your teeth, and it’s simply wise to put your health first.
Lip, tongue, and cheek piercings are not the only type of oral jewelry. Gems adhered to a tooth’s surface can cause similar health problems to piercings
