RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR - METRO peppina

WINNER

In a standout night at the 2025 Hospitality Tasmania Awards for Excellence, Peppina clinched the Restaurant of the Year – Metro title for a second consecutive year. The Hobart Italian-inspired venue also secured wins for Best International or Specialty Cuisine and Best Restaurant (in an Accommodation Venue), plus a silver medal for Best Wine List. The results reflect a consistently high standard across food, service, and beverage curation. Peppina’s kitchen continues to deliver Italian-inspired dishes underpinned by premium Tasmanian produce, while the front-of-house team maintains a warm, well-paced service style suited to both hotel guests and destination diners. The complementary awards recognise depth as well as breadth: culinary identity, guest experience within a hotel environment, and a wine program that supports the menu with range and structure. “It is fantastic, the acknowledgement for everyone, it is wonderful to see everyone here celebrating,” said Venue Manager Etien Celzner. “We know we have got the product but more importantly we have

got the people behind us, the teams we have in all our outlets, the leaders we have within the hotel and outlets, it is a fantastic team. “There is a lot [of competition] out there, some fantastic places, some fantastic restaurants and fantastic hotels.” Peppina sets a high benchmark for metro-region hospitality and shows experience and service that extends well beyond the night of the awards.
