SPORTS FIRST AIDER KICKSTART PROGRAM
better understanding how their minds work. The program offers simple and practical strategies that help developing athletes, coaches, and parents enhance performance, build resilience, and ultimately increase enjoyment in sport. By focusing on mental strength and self-awareness, Elite Minds equips young people with tools they can use both on and off the field — helping them set goals, stay motivated, and handle challenges with confidence. We are also proud to announce the launch of a pilot program in conjunction with Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania (MRC Tas). The Sports First Aider Kickstart Program is aimed at addressing a critical shortage of trained sports trainers across the state, while helping newly arrived Tasmanians build connections through community sport. It was great to announce this initiative alongside the Premier Jeremy Rockliff. Through this pilot, participants from migrant and refugee backgrounds will undertake accredited first aid and sports injury management training, preparing them to volunteer or work as sports trainers with local clubs. The initiative will also provide cultural capability training for participating clubs, ensuring the benefits extend both ways — equipping clubs to become more welcoming, inclusive, and reflective of Tasmania’s growing diversity.
