A SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN CONTEST WILL YOU ENTER TO WIN OUR PRIZE?
While my office is all business most of the year, every once in a while, we like to let go and have some fun. Among those times is Halloween — one of my favorite holidays. From jack-o’-lanterns on front porches to scary-movie marathons on TV, I love watching El Paso get into the spooky spirit, and I can’t resist bringing a bit of the hair-raising fun into the Spine & Rehab Specialists office. Every year, my staff and I celebrate Halloween by dressing up in our most over-the-top costumes and trying to out-scare one another to win a $100 gift certificate. The costume contest is one of the highlights of autumn for me, and it always brings out my competitive side. Everyone looks forward to seeing what I come up with because my outfits are always excessive. Probably the most successful one I pulled off was my hard-rock biker look: I came in all tatted up with temporary tattoos and covered in “piercings,” including a nose ring, eyebrow ring, and a lot of earrings. It was such a great costume that I actually did it twice, five or six years ago and again in 2017. The first time, I surprised everyone on staff because I really didn’t look like myself (I don’t have any tattoos or drive a Harley in real life), and I came charging in while the tune “Bad to the Bone” played on a boombox.
Another year, I came dressed up as a hard-rock tooth fairy. I had similar tattoos all over, but I also wore a tutu! I’ve been a scary, blood-covered clown and a mummy in years past, too. Halloween after Halloween, I was the runner-up in the contest, but eventually I got to take home some wins. Unfortunately, this year I’ll be out of town for Halloween and won’t be able to participate in the staff costume contest. But I’ve decided that my loss is your gain! In addition to the staff contest, we’ll also hold a Halloween contest for our patients and give you the chance to win a similarly fabulous prize. Entering is simple. All you have to do is dress in your Halloween best and head to our Edgemere office on Oct. 31. If your costume is judged to be the best, you’ll go home with the prize! As exciting as the Halloween contest is going to be, next month is going to feature an even bigger celebration. In fact, we’re planning to have our greatest promotion ever from Nov. 18–22 to celebrate our 22nd year in business! I don’t want to give you too many details yet — you can read all about it in our next edition — but suffice it to say, it will be big, and there will be free consultations for everyone. I can’t wait to celebrate with you!
