Indian Gaming Operating Capital In addit ion to covering typical operational expenses, Indian Gaming consistently engages in capital projects aimed at constructing, maintaining, or expanding gaming facilities and other infrastructure. These projects entail substantial expenditures within the state economy and serve as an additional source of spending impact. In 2023, a total of 19,912 jobs were created directly as a result of $2,232,690,989 in capital spending in the states where Indian casinos are located, as well as throughout the United States. Furthermore, capital spending generated $1,347,357,617 in labor income, $2,425,553,868 in value added, and created an economic output of $4,471,992,014. The table titled “Top 15 Output Industries” provides insights into the industries and their respective impacts stemming from all the spending activities undertaken by Indian casinos in maintenance, repair, and capital projects within their facilities. Notably, the maintenance, repair, and construction of nonresidential structures industries exhibit the largest impact, with $1,230,710,206 in direct output. Additionally, other top directly affected industries include the gambling industries at $514,861,300, and the construction of other new nonresidential structures at $341,207,537. These findings underscore the significant economic contributions of capital projects within Indian Gaming, not only in terms of job creation and income generation but also in fostering economic growth and infrastructure development within the broader economy.
