chapter to soar.” That systems-minded approach defines his leadership style: collabora- tive, analytical, and mission-driven. In every space he enters: the class- room, the stage, or the boardroom, JGVP Mattison embodies the time- less principle of Kappa Alpha Psi: Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor. When asked about legacy, JGVP Mattison answers with humility and vision. “I want my legacy to have an impact that outlasts my presence,” he said. “At Clemson, I hope people remember me as someone who opened doors, created spaces for others to lead, and fostered an inclusive environment.” He hopes his example will inspire brothers to lead with consistency, care, and authenticity. “My goal is to leave a blueprint of leadership that makes it easier for the next brother to build higher,” he said. Brother Mat- tison’s journey from Kappa League youth to undergraduate officer, scholar, mentor, and servant leader is a living demonstration that the most enduring form of leadership begins and ends with service. As part of the 35th Administration, Brother Russell is deeply committed to amplifying the perspectives of under- graduate brothers. “Our fraternity was built on the foundation of undergrad- uate leadership,” he explained. “It’s important that their ideas, passion, and energy continue to shape the future of Kappa Alpha Psi.” To him, leadership means creating space for collaboration, dialogue, and growth. “My goal is to make sure every brother feels heard, valued, and repre- sented,” he said. “When undergraduates have the tools and support they need, they don’t just meet expectations, they redefine them.” His focus on connection and inclusion has become a hallmark of his leadership across both the Western Province and the Delta Alpha Chapter, where he continually encourages peers to take initiative and think beyond their immediate roles. Brother Russell’s leadership style is proactive and purposeful. “I plan to support the Junior Grand Vice Polemarch’s efforts by being an active, dependable, and solution-driven leader who always puts the brother- hood first,” he said. “Together, we’ll

For him, excellence in academics and achievement in service go hand in hand, a mindset that defines his approach to leadership within Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Originally from Lynchburg, Vir- ginia, and now residing in Temecula, California, Brother Russell brings warmth, empathy, and focus to every environment he enters. A Spring 2023 initiate of the Delta Alpha Chapter at the University of Oregon, he currently serves as the Vice Polemarch of the chapter.
