UNDERGRADUATE SPOTLIGHT LEADERSHIP

“ LEADERSHIP WITHOUT FAITH IS DIRECTION WITHOUT DESTINATION.”

own journey: a combination of faith, perseverance, and quiet strength. Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Health Science on the Pre-Med track at Purdue University, Isaiah’s ambition is to become an oncologist. His academic excellence, reflected in multiple Dean’s List honors, is matched by hands-on med- ical experiences that have broadened his passion for healthcare. He works as a scribe at Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital and previously completed the Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) at the University of Iowa, where he deepened his knowledge of patient care and medical ethics. “Med- icine allows me to serve people at their most vulnerable,” Isaiah explained. “It’s where compassion meets sci- ence—and that’s what drives me.” Beyond the classroom, Brother Rob- inson’s service touches communities near and far. He has volunteered with a Mobile Health Clinic providing free healthcare to underserved populations and collaborated with Room to Read to promote literacy among underpriv- ileged youth. His ability to connect science, service, and spirituality makes him a model of the fraternity’s purpose in action.

A God-fearing man, Isaiah credits his faith for his resilience and lead- ership style. “Everything I do flows from faith,” he said. “It keeps me grounded when challenges come and reminds me that leadership is never about me—it’s about who I’m called to serve.” That mindset has guided him throughout his journey—from mentoring younger brothers and tutoring peers to volunteering at local clinics and church programs. His presence reflects the quiet strength of a man led by conviction and anchored in purpose. When asked about the legacy he hopes to leave, Isaiah spoke not of accolades, but of impact. “I want to be remembered as someone who made people feel seen, supported, and inspired,” he said. “Whether in Kappa, in medicine, or in life, my mission is to heal—to bring light to dark spaces and hope to those who need it most.” In the classroom, at the hospital, and within the bond of Kappa Alpha Psi, Brother Robinson continues to embody the values his parents instilled and his fraternity affirms—faith, excellence, and achievement through service. “Leadership without faith,” he reflected, “is direction without destination.”

JADEN G. YORK Grand Board Member G rand Board Member Jaden G. York is proving that authentic leadership hits different when it’s rooted in impact. The Saint Gabriel, LA native and Southern University Political Science major carries a 3.8 GPA while running a full playbook of service, advocacy, and mentorship. Whether he’s mobilizing students, pushing policy debates forward, or lighting a fire in the next generation, York embodies a rising class of Kappa men who don’t just talk achievement—they live it. Grand Board Member York’s con- nection to Kappa Alpha Psi runs deep. His family’s bond with the fraternity spans generations, beginning with his great-grandfather, James E. Hines Jr. (Alpha Sigma 1936), and grandfather, James E. Hines III (Kappa 1978). That lineage instilled in him a sense of purpose early on. When he became a Fall 2024 initiate of the Alpha Sigma Chapter at Southern University, he did so with a clear understanding that he was continuing a family tradition. Within the fraternity, Brother York serves as Community Service Chair, where he leads initiatives that impact local youth and neighborhoods around
