three Kappa’s were already repre- sented: internationally renown artists Aaron Douglas (Eta 1921, Chapter Invisible 1979), Alvin Loving (Detroit (MI) 1945, Chapter Invisible 2005), and Sam Gilliam (Alpha Omicron 1963, Chapter Invisible 2022). “This is a lineage,” says Harris. “This moment is not only about personal achievement. It’s also about repre- sentation and legacy. We sometimes forget that creatives can be achievers. Art is work. Serious work.” Brother Harris views his fraternal ties as a living network of support, mentorship, and excellence. “The Bond brings you together, but it cannot keep you together. Real friendships and shared interests keep you connected.” He remains deeply grateful to brothers who uplift his work and advocate for him. “Some brothers in my home chapter may not fully understand what I do, but others always remind them of the magnitude
