brings together an international group of emerging and established photographers. Harris is featured among this global cohort, adding his voice, his city, and his perspec- tive to a conversation about how images reveal identity, history, and community. When asked about the significance of being included in this project, he reflects on the respon- sibility that accompanies artistic achievement, stating that artists carry both the stories of their past and the possibilities of their future. At MoMA’s Artist Forum the day before opening night, he was asked: Who do you make your pictures of, and who do you make your pictures for? curators guided the artists through the installation for the first time, an artists forum, Brooklyn bar crawl, panel discussion at SoHo House, and a celebratory NOLA2MoMA after party hosted at the home of journalist Soledad O’Brien. Throughout the entire experience, whether inside MoMA’s quiet reflective galleries or at the soirée filled with conversation and celebration, the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi were there. intention and visual excellence. Their presence affirmed the strength of The Bond and demonstrated that legacy flourishes when a community stands firmly behind its own. “It is nothing like meeting a good brother. I still have the curiosity and passion I had when I first wanted to be a Kappa.” Still approaching his craft with the same wonder he felt as an under- graduate, L. Kasimu Harris remains committed to the timeless spirit of “Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor. Creative endeavor . ♦
