of the generous donations, we have been able to sustain our community outreach, support our Guide Right program, provide scholarships to dis- advantaged youth, and fund our youth golf initiative. Together, we have awarded at least five scholarships each year, helping to open doors of opportunity for so many deserving individuals. The impact has been both immense and immeasurable.” “One thing all the participating orga- nizations share is how the proceeds have helped in a way that is almost seismic,” Vernon J. Marrow declares. “The Kappa Community Development Foundation (KCDF) is affiliated with the College Park-Sandy Spring (MD) Alumni Chapter (CPSS), which serves Prince George’s and Montgomery County, MD. Our participation in the Kappa Takeover significantly broadened our financial reach in both counties.” “For example, we are now able to fund an annual scholarship at Prince George’s Community College and three scholarships at the University of Maryland, College Park. We have also been able to purchase iPads for East Silver Spring Elementary School in Montgomery County, MD. This increased financial flexibility allows us to create a greater impact.” By aligning with regional and national partners, The Takeover orchestrates a multi-pronged impact that extends far beyond a single weekend.
