What are your family’s favorite getaways? Warm, sandy beaches with tropical breezes? Alpine cabins surrounded by breathtaking scenery? High-octane outdoor excursions? For us, it’s all of the above. The Andrew family is serious about vacation time. In fact, I would say it’s been a central focus for my wife, Sharee, and me throughout the nearly five decades we’ve been raising kids and building relationships with our grandkids. Yes, we love the fun and adventure that getting away to other destinations can bring. But even more, we’ve seen our family trips as vital opportunities to build our legacy in all 3 Dimensions of Authentic Wealth. BUILDING A LEGACY IN MAUI Take our trips to Maui, for example. Every other February, our family gathers in Maui. We’ve made it a biennial tradition, so everyone knows to put it on their calendar. Rather than entitle our grown kids and their families with an all-expenses paid trip, we’ve empowered them to be responsible for their own travel and expenses.
responsible with), and we’ve also bought timeshares for pennies on the dollar directly from owners who wanted to liquidate them (or on the resale market).

We pool our money and go grocery shopping and fix many of the meals in the condos. This way, we can meet in Maui almost as inexpensively as at home, and our children maintain their own accountability in joining the vacation.

Over the years, we’ve created memories scuba diving, riding Harleys around hairpin turns on the road to Hana, relaxing on the beach, and more. We also gather for daily devotionals and activities. We’ll ask different couples to present on a Financial, Foundational, or Intellectual Dimension topic. We share I Remember When stories. And we mix in a lot of playtime. LIFE LESSONS IN WIND RIVER We also take regular summer trips to one of our favorite outdoor destinations, the Wind River Range in Wyoming, southeast of Yellowstone Park. We bring along our Jeep, ATVs, and dirt bikes and make our way to a special lake deep in the range. The terrain is extremely rugged. It takes three hours just to navigate the final 12 miles as we creep and crawl over boulders that would destroy any stock four-wheel drive vehicle. When we finally arrive, the setting is spectacular at 9,500 feet above sea level, and the fishing is fantastic.

But the journey in and out is as much or more of the experience than the destination. Each year, we encounter a fresh rock slide, a new set of boulders, or a recently fallen tree, and we reflect on all the times we encountered similar roadblocks. We recall how we winched our way out, turned our vehicle upright, and fixed the problem, and we feel ready to take on the current challenge. More than once, we’ve used the arduous trek to the
lake to remind our grandkids that it’s overcoming each and every obstacle that builds our muscles for facing life’s adversity. This and all the other activities and conversations on the trip are added to our family’s Legacy Bank. WHERE WILL YOUR NEXT RETREAT TAKE YOU? As I’ve shared the Family Retreat With a Purpose approach with the 3 Dimensional Wealth community, it’s been rewarding to hear how it’s impacting families. They talk about how powerful it is to step away from life’s distractions, have dedicated time together, and blend fun and inspiration into unforgettable experiences. Suddenly they see that vacations can be more than just getaways — they can become bonding, building, transformative adventures. For those who are new to the concept, we’ve created a sample agenda to help parents and grandparents plan Family Retreats With a Purpose. (Use the QR code on Page 1 to download your free copy.)
SUPPORTING THEIR GROWTH EMPOWERING OUR KIDS TO PURSUE EXCELLENCE
Our son Ethan loves sports. Ever since he could hold a ball, he’s loved playing anything and everything he could. First it was against me in the backyard, then alongside his teammates when he was old enough to play youth sports. Now he’s in high school, and his passion hasn’t faded. He has his sights set on playing in college. My wife, Harmony, and I have taught our kids about goals — how it takes more than a wish to reach the accomplishments that matter to us. Like I’ve mentioned in a previous article, we’ve walked them through setting SMART goals (S–Specific; M–Measurable; A–Attainable; R–Relevant; T–Time Frame), then doing everything it takes to follow through with accountability and responsibility. As parents, Harmony and I have thought about how we can support our kids in reaching their goals. With our daughters, we’re there to encourage their love of music by arranging for piano and violin lessons, following up on their practice time at home, and cheering them on at their recitals. With Ethan’s collegiate athlete aspirations, he applies himself in practice and gives his all in the games. Harmony and I want to invest in his goals, so we’ve hired a company that has helped him set up a college recruiting profile.
Now he’s putting in the work not only on the field, but also in pursuing scholarships. He regularly posts videos of his performance in football, wrestling, lacrosse, basketball, and rugby. He checks the messages and gets excited when he can see universities checking out his profile. Over the next few years, he’ll continue to add videos and connect with schools, working to increase his chances of achieving his dream of playing in college. Will all this effort guarantee he’s wearing a college jersey someday? He knows that it doesn’t mean schools are necessarily going to offer him a scholarship, but instead of just walking blindly toward his goal, he wants to do everything he can to play at a junior college or four-year university. In the meantime, we’re helping him see that what he’s doing in sports applies to the rest of his life. He’s building the kind of Foundational Dimension habits that will benefit his future education, career, and family.
As parents, I think we all want nothing more than for our kids to gain the confidence that comes from pursuing and achieving goals. The more we can do to support them, the more likely they are to succeed. I wish you and your family the best as you guide your children to strengthen their Foundational Dimension. –Emron Andrew Want to help your kids reach their goals? THE INSTRUMENTS FOR SUCCESS
So where will your next Family Retreat With a Purpose take you? Beyond the destination, I encourage you to think about the Foundational, Intellectual, and Financial Dimension “landmarks” you plan to “visit.” What are your goals? What does your family need to develop? Maybe it’s more teamwork. Perhaps it’s greater communication and connection? Consider your larger goals, and let that guide you as you plan your inspirational and fun activities. I wish you all the excitement and legacy- building fun that will come from your future Retreats With a Purpose!
HOW LEARNING TO PLAY MUSIC BENEFITS CHILDREN
What are your children’s favorite activities when looking for something to do? Some prefer reading, while others like to draw, write, or play with friends. While all of these talents will benefit your children and strengthen their Foundational Dimension, an activity that is often overlooked is playing musical instruments. Many kids get their first taste of music when they enter middle school and show interest in playing in a band or orchestra. But you don’t have to wait until your child is in school to get them started with music! Starting at age 4, your child will be in the perfect state to begin learning how to play, and you’ll quickly notice the benefits they gain, such as these three. IMPROVED PATIENCE Learning to play an instrument for the first time is not easy. Developing the skills necessary to play takes time, effort, and practice. This process can sometimes be frustrating, but with effort and persistence, children can gradually improve their skills and master complex pieces. Likewise, if children play in a group, they may have to wait their turn to play their part in a song, which also helps them develop focusing skills and patience. PROPER RESPONSIBILITY AND TIME MANAGEMENT Musical instruments are costly and require maintenance to ensure they stay in good condition. By entrusting your child with an instrument, you’re giving them the responsibility of taking care of it. Teach them how to clean their instrument and store it properly. Additionally, they’ll have to learn how to follow a practice schedule, which teaches time management skills and how to avoid procrastination. ENHANCED SELF-ESTEEM Learning to play a new song or chord can make any music student proud! They accomplished something they set their mind to, making them feel more confident about themselves and fostering a desire to keep improving. As they continue playing, their confidence and self-esteem will bloom. This will also give them an outlet for their creative endeavors, which will help them be more comfortable with who they are. Music can also bring your family together. Check out Emron’s article on Page 2 to read about how he supports his daughters’ passions for piano and violin. Participating in their lessons, practices, and performances brings his tightknit family even closer.

Life lessons over foil dinners.
Calling all grandparents out there … get ready for the best “camping” experience you’ve ever had as you host your own Grandparents’ Camp. This unique adventure is a concept that Doug and Sharee Andrew pioneered several years ago, and it’s become an annual tradition for their 20 grandkids ever since. Here’s the idea: You schedule a 3–4-day experience with the grandkids. Each day and night is filled with activities, meaningful conversations, food, and fun. The older children stay the entire time, while the younger ones come for the last night or two with their parents in tow (or if they’re close by, littles can come for the day and evening activities, then head home to sleep in their own beds). It can be off-site at an actual campground or cabin. Or it could be at your home, with tents pitched in the backyard (or sleeping bags lined up in the family room), and a campfire set around a backyard gas or wood fire pit. For Doug and Sharee, their cabin has been the setting for their annual camp each year, and activities have ranged from zip lining to ATVs, archery, campfire meals, and more.
As with anything in the 3 Dimensional Wealth approach, you’ll want to dedicate part of the agenda to intentional moments of inspiration. You can lead discussions on family values, healthy living, social media

GET AHEAD WITH PROFESSIONAL COACHES & MENTORS WHAT COULD A COACH DO FOR YOU?

If you could form the ideal strategic alliance, what would you bring to the table, and what would you like them to bring? If you already have answers to all of the above, congratulations! If you’re a little new to professional coaches and mentors, then we encourage you to seek out the thought leaders in your industry and invest the time, resources, and yes, even money, to connect with high-achieving people who can help you elevate your career. As entrepreneurs, we’ve been asked by clients over the years to share our business insights — many of which have been captured in Doug’s book, “The 10 Keys Transformation.” Here we share some of those insights for the entrepreneurs and business leaders in our 3 Dimensional Wealth community. Achievement, success, greatness … they are all the sum of many parts. They are the grand culmination of countless insights, efforts, and collaborations. Any great achievers we’ve ever known have said publicly they would not be where they are today without the impact of other influential people — coaches, mentors, confidantes, and leaders who were seriously interested in them. INVALUABLE INSPIRATION Doug often shares that he never would have published his first book, let alone gone on to become a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, if he hadn’t invested in professional coaching and mastermind groups.
He also would have never developed professional training to share his IUL LASER Fund strategies with thousands of other financial professionals if not for encouragement from his coaches and mentors. And inspiration gleaned at professional development events helped spark ideas for Doug’s national radio show and in-demand YouTube channel. He says, “I’ve invested more than $1 million over the course of my career to connect with coaches and mastermind groups. These collaborative opportunities have made a measurable impact on my business growth and income, returning far more than 10 times the amount I’ve invested.” WHAT ABOUT YOUR MENTORS? So as you consider your own professional future, we ask: 1. Who are some of your favorite coaches and mentors? 2. What strategic alliance have you formed that benefited your career the most?

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR HEALTH
4 STEPS TO HAPPY, HEALTHY AGING
Aging can bring some of our most exciting and rewarding decades. After years of working and saving a nest egg, we can finally retire. Many of us welcome grandchildren into the world, and we have more time to travel to some of the most beautiful destinations on the planet. These are just a few reasons why your health and well-being are two of your most important Foundational Assets. To enjoy life as you age, you need to protect them! If you’re in your 50s or older, use these tips to stay healthy and active. CHECK IN FREQUENTLY Keeping up with your health is much more than seeing your doctor whenever you feel under the weather and remembering to take prescribed medications. It’s essential to have regular checkups and screenings
for health conditions and diseases. After all, it’s always better to catch something early than to find it too late. FUEL YOUR BODY Nutrition plays a pivotal role in your health and quality of life. Center your diet around fruits, veggies, lean meats, whole grains, healthy fats, nuts, seeds, and low-fat dairy. Limit the frequency of eating processed foods, fatty meats, and sugar. Following these guidelines reduces your risk of many illnesses and sets you up for a more active lifestyle in your golden years. STAY SOCIAL Loneliness has been linked to declining physical health and concerns. Those who do not engage in social activities tend to battle dementia and Alzheimer’s more than those who interact with others and form
relationships. To maintain your physical and mental health, get out and mingle!
TAKE YOUR VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS
As a child, you likely remember your mother reminding you to take your vitamins. Now, it’s time to really listen. While it’s always better to get your essential vitamins and minerals from the foods you consume, sometimes, that can be tough. Be sure to talk to a trusted health professional about taking additional calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and vitamin B6 to keep your body operating at its optimal potential. Your body has been along for the ride your entire life. With many more wonderful years ahead of you, take care of it so it can continue to care for you!

IS THIS A REAL BRAND? How to Spot Fake Online Influencers
“Hey! I’m on the promoter team for X business, and we think you are a perfect fit for our ambassador program.” Messages like this and many others are a common tactic that fake brands and scammers use to trick people on social media. They target all kinds of accounts, including those with small followings — even your children or grandchildren could receive direct messages or comments from scammers who want to take advantage of their naivete.
unauthentic accounts and bots — meaning their audience isn’t even real.
message includes emojis, it’s another sign that the account is probably a bot.
The first way to determine if an account is fake is if you notice a comment on one of your pictures saying, “Can you DM us?” If a brand wants to work with you or your child, they will reach out to you directly, not the other way around. If a “company” posts a comment, it’s most likely a bot that sent an automated message after it flagged a specific hashtag or word. If you receive a message from someone saying they are from a particular company, be cautious before accepting their proposal. If the company isn’t messaging you from its main account, it’s most likely a scam. An example of these messages was shown at the beginning of this article. Additionally, since this should be a professional business proposal, if the
standing paddleboard. Many beaches on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts have paddleboard rentals or surfing lessons. Be on the lookout at your vacation destination if you want to take advantage of these exciting activities. TOUR THE OCEAN You may want to get away from the beach and experience open waters beyond the shore. If that’s the case, you’ll want to see if your vacation destination offers glass-bottom boat or submarine tours. Some beaches even have whale-watching adventures, which provide an excellent opportunity to see some of nature’s largest creatures in their natural habitat. While on your coastal excursion, make it a meaningful Family Retreat With a Purpose by gathering for a few moments each day to reflect on family values, share an inspirational poem or scripture, or discuss 3 Dimensional Wealth topics. The memories, and inspiration, will be unforgettable! Furthermore, proceed cautiously i f the account asks you to buy their product first or offers an ambassadorship immediately. This is an easy way for scammers to steal your hard-earned money. If a brand wants you to try their products, ensure that it’s in writing that they will give it to you for free or reimburse you. Social media is a great way to stay connected with your family and keep your bonds strong, but it can also be dangerous. Follow basic precautions, trust your gut, and take preventive measures now to keep yourself, your family, and your finances safe.
So, how do you spot these fake brands and influencers?
When you first look at the individual and the company’s business social media accounts, everything may seem genuine at first. However, the major difference between fake and real influencers and companies is that fake brands will have

Summer has finally arrived, and many of us will be going on weeklong excursions to the coast to get some much-needed rest and relaxation by the beach. If you’re planning to hit the sand with your family this summer, you should prepare some exciting activities, so you can create memories that will last a lifetime. WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A STRATEGIC ROLLOUT
What if you could save a significant amount on taxes, while setting yourself up for tax- free income during retirement and an income-tax-free transfer of your money to your heirs when you ultimately pass away? WEIGHING THEIR OPTIONS That’s a pivotal moment a couple we’ll call the Garners were facing when they met with us. They had just turned 60 and were exploring their options, wondering if their current retirement strategies could be better. At that point, their pensions and investments, including their 401(k)s, 403(b)s, and TSAs, totaled $250,000, and they had recently rolled all their supplemental accounts into IRAs. They were considering whether to begin withdrawing money from their IRAs during their 60s or waiting until later. On the advice of an accountant, they were leaning toward waiting until their 70s, which meant delaying the taxes they would inevitably be required to pay. After meeting with us to look more closely at their strategy, we were able to help them see the risk of handing too much of their retirement savings over to Uncle Sam if they waited until their 70s. After age 59½, you can start to withdraw money from your traditional accounts like IRAs and 401(k)s without a penalty. Taking money out of your account is completely optional … until you reach the age for required minimum distributions (RMDs), which is currently age 73. At that point, the government outlines a minimum amount you have to withdraw each year (so Uncle
Because more of your retirement money should go to you, not Uncle Sam
Sam can start taking his share in taxes).
THE COST OF WAITING If the Garners had waited until they HAD to take money out with RMDs, they could have ended up owing Uncle Sam as much as $250,000 in taxes … an amount equal to what they had in their IRAs at the time! They realized they could NOT afford to pay that much in taxes. They also wanted to look forward to a good quality of life throughout their golden years. After more research, the Garners decided they would rather get their taxes over and done with and reposition their money in a financial vehicle that would provide greater liquidity, safety, predictable rates of return, and tax advantages. They opted to do a strategic rollout. Over the next five years, they moved their money out of their IRAs, got their taxes over with, and transferred that money into an IUL LASER Fund. They ended up paying $60,000 in taxes. That might sound like a good chunk of change, but it pales in comparison to the nearly $250,000 they would have paid in taxes if they’d waited to take RMDs from their IRAs in their 70s. That’s a savings of about $190,000 that remained in their pockets, versus going to Uncle Sam’s. Now they have the peace of mind knowing their money is growing tax-free in their IUL LASER Fund, safe from market volatility, ready to provide tax- free income during retirement.
YOUR MONEY, OR UNCLE SAM’S? One of the biggest takeaways? It’s important to remember that your money will never be worth more than it is today. Think about it. The cost of living is higher than when you were a child, right? It’s even higher than it was a few years ago! Inflation has a way of perpetually raising the bar for what we’ll need to cover our expenses during retirement. And remember, with what we call the Deduction Reduction, your current tax bracket is likely the lowest bracket you’ll be in going forward. That means NOW may be the best time for a strategic rollout, repositioning your money from traditional accounts like IRAs and 401(k)s into an IUL LASER Fund. When done correctly, a strategic rollout can enable you to stay within your same tax bracket and even offset some (or all) of the tax incurred during the rollout. The bottom line is with traditional accounts like IRAs and 401(k)s, you’re going to pay taxes. The question is this: Do you pay them now (strategically and at a lower tax rate) as you move your money into an IUL LASER Fund? Or do you do what the Garners ALMOST did and end up paying more taxes later because you waited? If you’d rather do what the Garners did, a strategic rollout is the answer. Strategic rollouts require specific steps to comply with tax laws, as does opening an IUL LASER Fund. We spell out more of these details in our book, “The LASER Fund.” We invite you to learn more so you can decide if a strategic rollout is right for you, right now.
Explore your options for saving on taxes with a Strategic Rollout. Order your free copy of “The Laser Fund” book today.
