Quonsets Constructed for Recreation Program
Quonset huts have been constructed on the Biola Campus for use as carpenter shop, shower rooms and recreational facilities for student activities. The structures are located on a portion of the campus hidden from view by a hill. The facilities will give much needed room for expansion, particularly in the recreational-physical educa tion program
of the school. might have life through his name.” Notice this: “that believing ye might have life,” not that believing ye might have forgiveness of sins. No, it is so much more than that — by believing ye might have life through His Name. This is what the angel said to Peter, “Go, stand, preach in the temple, to the people all the words of this life.” In other words, Peter was to go and offer these people a quality of life which they had never experienced be fore. That joy was the thrill of the message that Peter and the others preached in those days. Here is a new kind of life, a new quality of life that can change your entire living for you, and that is how John’s Gospel closes. What I want you to see is this, that God is offering to you exactly what He offered to the people in the days of the early church in Acts. The kind of life they lived, you can live and the kind of power they experienced, you can experience. God grant that we may come to rea lize this that our daily living may be more effective for His glory! 29
How long was it before you realized that although your sins were forgiven they kept coming back; the habits that you wanted so to get rid of were there again? Yes, it is the old story. I won dered whether it was a success or whether I had tried and religion had failed. Did you ever feel like that? It was such a wonderful day for me when I realized that God’s salva tion is not only the forgiveness of sins — it includes the forgiveness of sins, but oh, so much more and I did not know that — nobody ever told me and I thought it was up to me to go out and do wonderful things for Christ and I found this frustrating. Are you trying so hard to live for Jesus and find ing it a real battle? Well, now, I want you to turn with me, if you will, to the Gospel of John, chapter 20 and I am reading verses 30 and 31, “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disci ples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye
