1. CHILDREN AS YOUNG RESEARCHERS Dr Russell Grigg is Director of the Centre for Research into Practice and Director of Initial Teacher Education. This workshop will explore children as young researchers; introduce the Young Educational Research Network (YERN) and how you can become involved.

2. SHOULD WE HAVE DOGS IN SCHOOL? Dr Helen Lewis is the primary PGCE Programme Director and an expert in school dogs. The workshop explores: the well-being benefits school dogs may bring; debates around ethics, risks and challenges; possible research projects; and includes an introduction to the National School Dog Alliance.

3. PARENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT IN LEARNING: WHAT THE RESEARCH TELLS US

Professor Janet Goodall is an international expert in parental engagement. This workshop covers: building relationships; effective strategies; how to evaluate and possible research projects.
