Cont. from Page UU toric tradition that made America great; that gained for her in times past the respect of the entire world. But if these laws are to be prosti tuted, defied, degraded and made to mean something entirely different from what they were intended ori ginally, there is no hope. Our land will be reduced to a state of anarchy totally unlike the country the found ing fathers envisioned and which those who preceded us committed in to our care and keeping at the cost of their very life’s blood. Herein lies the shame of America! God grant that soon there may be a right-about- face, a change in our whole attitude toward law and order and decency. We shall never forget the incident which occurred in Los Angeles when President Johnson came to deliver a major policy address before a large crowd of our citizens. Those who supported him were eager to follow him along to the hotel where he was to speak, to cheer him along in typi cal American fashion, but they were deprived of this privilege of doing him homage. He was brought in se cretly by a back door for fear of the howling mobs outside who were hurl ing verbal insults and apparently might have done him bodily harm. This is America? Its own President unsafe in its cities! Yet again we go back to our Supreme Court. Such stupid, contemptible conduct on the part of these despicable characters actually was made possible by Su preme Court actions in the name of civil rights and individual liberty. These trouble-makers had thei r rights defended, but the President of the United States of America could not exercise his right of free access into the very hotel to which he had been invited as an honored guest and speaker. This is a blot nothing can erase and should shock us into action before it is too late to save us. The s hame of America whi ch reached such a dramatic climax in Chicago was not that of an efficient, adequate police force doing its duty in protection of its citizens against those law-breakers. The shame of America was not a determined ma yor’s effort to keep his city from be ing over-run by criminals of all types who joined the dissenters. The shame was the lack of restraining the mobs by the leaders of the groups, what ever their ages, their names, their ideas, their political heroes. Parents, teachers, politicians and even clergy, who defended the resistance to law- abiding assembly, were guilty, and accountable. The greatest tragedy of all is that Cont. on Page U6

A Jewish boy accepted a tract, "Isaiah's Por trait of Messiah" and immediately asked, "Can you tell me more about this?" There on a street corner in Chicago a 12 year old boy listened intently to the skillful presentation of the Scriptures and ac cepted Jesus Christ as his Messiah and Sav iour. A middle-aged Jew ess, after hearing the gospel for several years at Miami Beach called and. said, "I am terribly distressed. Please come ,over. I must find the Lord today."
