Whenever a student is found on school property, or in attendance at a school-sponsored activity, in possession of a dangerous weapon, and that information is reported to or known by the principal, the principal shall notify appropriate law enforcement personnel, as well as school and District personnel who, in the opinion of the principal, should be informed. 5.0840.01 TAKING INTO CUSTODY Issue Date: 4/10/97
The District shall permit a student to be taken into custody under the following circumstances: 4. Pursuant to an order of the Juvenile Court; 5. Pursuant to the laws of arrest; 6. By a law enforcement officer if there are reasonable grounds to believe the student has engaged in delinquent conduct or conduct in need of supervision; 7. By a probation officer if there are reasonable grounds to believe the student has violated condition(s) of probation imposed by the Juvenile Court; 8. By an authorized representative of the Utah Department of Social Services, a law enforcement officer, or a juvenile probation officer, without a court order, under conditions relating to the student’s physical health or safety.
5.0900 STUDENT FEES, FINES AND CHARGES
DEFINITIONS Issue Date: 4/10/97 Updated: 1/2/20 FI As used in this policy, the following definitions apply.
1. “Fee” means (a) something of monetary value (b) requested or required as a condition to a student’s participation (c) in an activity, class, or program which is provided, sponsored, or supported by a school.
