An established and esteemed builders’ merchant and hardware store in operation since 1926, John Shilliday Ltd is committed to providing quality products and services at affordable prices and helping you get your next project completed. Still located at its original premises in Castlewellan, the family business has expanded over the years to include 75-77 Main Street with a builders’ yard behind the shop on Clarmont Avenue. Comprising around 8,000sqft, the shop includes retail and trades counters on the first floor alongside a stockholding which includes ironmongery, paint with a paint-mixing service, household
products, screws, bolts, tools, glass with a glass-cutting service, fire grates, workwear and key cutting. A second floor features a seasonal showroom for garden and Christmas products, as well as general storage for the business. In the yard, the main store houses machined timber, iron products, MDF skirting, PVC fascia, sewer fittings, cavity trays and felt products, with a new shed storing cement, plasterboard, insulation and further MDF products. The outside yard stores timber, sand, gravel, decorative stones, paving, fencing, wire, gas, coal and land drainage products, with its services spanning sheet plywood
John Shilliday Ltd offers deliveries across orders of all sizes, including crane off-loading, and regularly hosts trade events such as demo days for Crown Paints, CTI and staff training.
