BRICK

WITH A LONG HERITAGE, KINGSCOURT BRINGS A DEPTH OF CRAFT AND EXPERTISE THAT CAN’T BE EASILY REPLICATED, SAYS BREEDON GROUP IRELAND COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR BRIAN HEALY… Kingscourt Brick offers quality & consistency

What products & services do you supply? Kingscourt Brick supplies a comprehensive range of clay-facing bricks to the housebuilding sector across Ireland and the UK. Our range encompasses over 30 product lines in a wide variety of textures, colours and finishes, from smooth and dragface bricks through to rustic, multi- tone and tumbled varieties. Whether a housebuilder is looking for a classic red brick aesthetic, contemporary buff tones or a distinctive heritage blend, we have something to suit. We also supply brick slips, such as our Regency Reclaimed Brick Slip, which offer excellent design flexibility for feature walls and cladding applications. Alongside the products themselves, we offer technical support and an ongoing R&D programme working directly with customers to develop bricks tailored to specific schemes. What are your USPs? There are several things that set Kingscourt Brick apart. First and foremost is our heritage: with over 100 years of brickmaking experience, we bring a depth of craft and expertise that simply can’t be easily replicated. Our bricks are manufactured from locally- sourced clay, meaning we’re a genuinely local producer serving the Irish and Northern Irish markets with shorter, more reliable supply chains. Quality is built into everything we do. Our modern, fully-automated plant uses computerised kiln temperature controls and precise batching and blending techniques, ensuring consistent colour, dimensional accuracy and high product quality across every order. Our bricks meet all relevant industry standards and accreditations, giving housebuilders peace of mind.

“Clay brick also offers excellent

thermal mass, absorbing heat during the day and releasing it at night.”

Sustainability is another key differentiator. As a natural product, clay brick has a minimum expected service life of 150 years, meaning homes built with our bricks are genuinely built to last. Clay brick also offers excellent thermal mass, absorbing heat during the day and releasing it at night, which contributes to consistent internal temperatures and energy efficiency. We also operate an active waste recycling programme at our factory and continue to invest in new clay reserves and state- of-the-art production infrastructure to underpin our long-term supply capability. How long have you been supplying the sector? Our heritage stretches back over 100 years, and residential construction has always been a core part of what we serve. Demand from the housebuilding sector is a key driver of our ongoing investment in production capacity, product development and clay reserve acquisition.

throughout NI, from private housing schemes to social and affordable housing projects, including Lisburn developments Magheralave Meadows, Ballantine Village and Thaxton Village. What are the key opportunities & challenges in the sector? Both NI and the Republic of Ireland continue to face a well-documented housing supply deficit, and government targets to increase new housing delivery represent a long-term tailwind for our business. We work closely with housebuilders to ensure reliable supply and consistent product availability, and we’re investing in our production infrastructure to make sure we can meet demand as the market grows.
