HEATING DESIGN
GRANT’S ADVANCED DIGITAL DESIGN SOFTWARE ENSURES HEATING SYSTEMS ARE CONSIDERED EARLY IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS AND DELIVERED MORE EFFICIENTLY ON SITE…
Getting the heating design right early makes a real difference once a project reaches the building site. Accurate system design gives builders and developers a clearly defined heating specification, reducing on-site queries, avoiding late-stage revisions and supporting regulatory compliance. Long established as a leader in the home- heating sector, Grant has advanced its digital design software used as part of the company’s Heating Design & Specification Service. This is helping to ensure heating systems are considered early in the development process and delivered more efficiently on site. Grant’s in-house design service has been widely used across the industry for many years and is valued for its technical accuracy and practical, time-saving approach. The upgraded software enables Grant’s technical team to respond more efficiently to design enquiries, producing clearer, more detailed outputs, particularly on larger or more complex residential projects. As part of the free-of-charge service, Grant’s technical specialists carry out in-depth room-by-room heat-loss calculations, accurate sizing for radiators or underfloor heating systems, and complete pipework circuit layouts. Automated calculations reduce design time, while annotated schematics and layout drawings provide a clear heating system specification that can be reviewed and approved at an early stage, helping to reduce uncertainty during construction. The calculation engine produces consistent, independently-verified outputs, giving project teams confidence that system sizing and performance assumptions align with industry standards. Embedded manufacturer data ensures that heat outputs reflect real Smarter heating design with Grant

How to avail of Grant’s Heating Design & Specification Service: 1. Send planning drawings to heatpump@grantni.com or fill out Grant’s Design & Specification Application Form online where you can attach property plans, contact details and preferred heat emitters (radiators, underfloor or both). 2. Grant Technical Specialists carry out in-depth heat loss calculations which determine the precise heating demands for each room in the property. 3. Receive your tailored integrated heating solution designed and specified for your project featuring correctly sized heat pump, cylinder and heat emitter layout. 4. On-site support with commissioning by Grant on all Aerona R290 heat pumps to ensure the heating system is correctly installed and operating at peak performance. 5. A full aftercare service is provided by the Grant Service Network, which includes trained technicians located throughout Northern Ireland and local installers.
operating conditions rather than generic assumptions, supporting more predictable on-site installation. The design service also supports compliance requirements, including the production of SR 50/MCS- compliant heat-loss documentation. This helps ensure heating systems are designed to meet relevant building regulations and NZEB performance requirements, reducing design risk and minimising the need for late-stage revisions. At the centre of many new-build specifications is Grant’s award-winning Aerona R290 air-to-water heat pump. Designed specifically for UK and Irish climate conditions, the Aerona R290 uses natural refrigerant R290, which has a Global Warming Potential of just 3. With output sizes ranging from 4kW to 16kW, the range offers flexibility across a wide variety of property types, from smaller homes to larger housing schemes.
