Gippsland History Linda Barraclough Admin Group expert 15 August 2019 The Warriors' Chapel
This book records the story of those on the beautiful but, like all war memorials, extremely sad honour roll in St John's Anglican Church in Bairnsdale. This is an honour roll that I know well. Among the names is that of Louie Bicknell, the first Australian nurse to die in WWI. And it is also one of two beautiful opus sectile rolls in Gippsland. The other is at Maffra, and quite different to this one, which is a beautiful memorial to tragedy and sacrifice.Michael Cecil is an extremely well-qualified and published author. I look forward to reading this book. https://virtualbookworm.com/.../warriors-chapel-a-small...
