Candidate Profile Work Experience Essential • Significant/extensive experience in a Head of Security role within a large campus based or multi-site organisation • Experience of managing security services and teams across multiple geographically dispersed sites within the UK. • Experience of developing individuals and teams beyond core security management to encompass customer services and pastoral care.

Education/ Qualifications Essential • Attained or working toward The Security Institute Diploma in Security Management (Level 5). • Attained or working toward a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. • Member of an appropriate recognised professional body. Desirable • First degree in security, business or leadership and management. • The Security Institute Advanced Diploma in Security Management (Level 7). • Strong leadership capability – able to engage, motivate and influence both internal staff, contractors and suppliers. • Ability to produce and communicate timely and accurate management reports. • Ability to prepare tender documents including specifications and SLA’s for security. • Ability to critically analyse problems and present options/solutions in a clear and concise format. • Familiar with, and able to use, the extensive Microsoft Office suite. • Possession of a full Driving Licence with no endorsements or disqualifications that will prevent travelling on University business. Skills/ Abilities Essential

• Experience of introducing technology into the workplace to improve security and enhance the customer experience. • Experience of conducting and reviewing Building Security Risk Assessments within a higher education institution. • Experience of acting as a lead for Safeguarding, PREVENT, and/or ProtectED. • Experience of developing and implementing Standard Operating for security operations. • Experience of the procurement, mobilisation, and management of contracts for supplementary security resources within a large organisation. • Developing and maintaining revenue (OPEX) budgets for security services. Desirable • Experience of managing security within a higher education institution and/or knowledge and understanding of the HE operating environment
