the police force are Roman Catholics. Roman Catholics are in the majority of the city council of 15,000 cities and towns of the United States. In 90 per cent of the cases where criminals are executed for crimes com­ mitted, the victims of the execution have a priest at their elbow to adminis­ ter the last sacrament. Abraham Lincoln said: “ I do not pretend to be a prophet, but, though not 'a prophet, I see a very dark cloud on our horizon, and that cloud is coming from Rome. It is filled with tears and blood. “ The true motive power is secreted behind the walls of the Vatican, the Colleges and schools of the Jesuits,, the convents of the nuns and the confess sional boxes of Rome,” and such opin- * ions cost the nation hi? life. Over 65 per cent of .the prison con­ victs of all grades and^pf all kinds of prisoners are ■Roman Gatnoncs, while less than 5 per cent are graduates of our public schools. These statements are astounding when we remember that only about 1 2 per cent of the entire population of the United States are Roman Cath­ olics, while the other 8T % per cent are not.— From “Washington Bureau of Statistics.” The above should be sufficient evi­ dence to open the eyes and conscience of every true American citizen. The item stated that the Bible women’s work was organized in 1919. This should have read 1909. The Institute recently opened a Gos­ pel mission on Main street in Los An­ geles. This is in the heart of a most needy section of the City, where it is possible to catch thousands of men every hour of the day and evening. ¿Hi. M R O M A N IS M Will you kindly consider the follow­ ing national statistics: The President’s private secretary is a Roman Catholic. Over 70 per cent of all appointments made by President Wilson are Cath­ olics. Their influence is ,80 powerful it compels the homage of those in au­ thority. Five states now have Catholic Admin­ istrations. Thirty-one States have Roman Cath­ olic Democrat Central Committees. Twenty thousand public schools have one-half Catholic teachers. Three thousand public schools now contribute a part or all of the school tax to Catholic churches and schools. Six hundred public schools use Cath­ olic readers and teach from them the Roman Catholic catechism. Sixty-two per cent of all offices of the United States, both elective and ap­ pointive, are now held by Roman Cath­ olics. New York City, Chicago, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Cleveland, To­ ledo, St. Louis, Los Angeles, San Fran­ cisco and Boston now have 75 per cent Catholic teachers in their public schools. In all the cities and towns of the United States of 10,000 or more inhabi­ tants, an average of over 90 per cent of
