Milestone Moment: ENI Approves Design Freeze for Drill Thru Tubing Hanger Spool System Scott MacDonald and David Walker’s recent visit to ENI HQ in Milan marked a major milestone in our Joint Development Agreement for the Drill Thru Tubing Hanger Spool (DTHS). This innovative project aims to eliminate the need to remove and reinstall the BOP by enabling a full-bore (18-3/4”) single-trip operation. The face-to-face meeting with ENI’s core team focused on reviewing progress and securing approval for the Design Freeze and Preliminary Design. Through collaborative discussions, we gained valuable clarity on operational needs—ensuring the solution delivers real value and stands out in the industry. With ENI’s approval now in place, we’re moving confidently into the next phase: sourcing and manufacturing the DTHS prototype for proof-of- concept testing. Customer collaboration is the heartbeat of successful delivery—and David and Scott nailed it with seamless teamwork, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to shared goals. A huge thank you to everyone involved—this is a fantastic step forward in redefining subsea technology.
