ackensack, NJ — Hollister Construc- tion Services , a full- service construction manager specializing in residential, retail, corporate, educational, healthcare and industrial con- struction, has partnered with the Heritage Capital Group to revive 210 and 214 Main St., two buildings located in the center of downtown, Hacken- sack. The two buildings will be transformed into modern residential buildings with 127 units, providing residents with various exterior and interior amenities. Heritage Capital Group, H
along with their partners at FCA-Orbita Group, purchased the unoccupied buildings in 2013 with the goal to pre- serve the properties and help transform Hackensack into a regional hub for living, shop- ping and entertainment. “Having grown up in Bergen County and going to Hacken- sack as a child, we are excited to be a part of Hackensack’s revitalization. The City has been fantastic to work with and is on the right track. We have a great team working on this project at Hollister along with Mark Zurlini at M&T Bank for the financing and
Joe Siegel at Environetics ,” said Jeffrey Greenberg , principal at Heritage Capital Group. One of the city’s tallest and most architecturally signifi- cant structures, 210 Main Street is being transformed into a 100,000 s/f residential apartment building. This icon- ic and notable art-deco bank building, previously occupied by Bank of America and vacant for several years, will be gutted and renovated while the façade and exterior will be preserved. “The influx of residents from this and other residential projects in the area will have a tremendous positive economic impact on Main Street,” said Mayor John Labrosse. The 10-story building will be extended vertically with a newly constructed 11th floor, providing a total of 90 new residential apartments. The building’s existing penthouse will be converted into three du- plex apartments with exterior private balconies overlooking New York City to the east and Hackensack to the west. The building will also have two retail spaces at street-level. Building residents will have access to exterior amenity space, along with interior com- mon amenity spaces. Key com- mon area amenities include a lobby reception, WiFi lounge, valet parking and porte-co- chere, multi-function and game room, convenience store and a private fitness facility. The basement level will provide additional spaces for residents, including secure private stor- age compartments, bike stor- age room and a laundry room. 210 Main Street, which opened its doors in 1926 as the People’s Trust Co. Bank build- ing, will remain a focal point for downtown Hackensack and will appeal to a young profes- sional crowd. “We have been working dili- gently with the Heritage Capi- tal Group and Environetics, the project Architects and En- gineers, from the onset of the project. From early budgeting to the preconstruction phase, we identified value-engineer- ing options and helped finalize drawings to meet the project budget goals. We are confident that the new residential devel- opment at 210 and 214 Main Street in Hackensack will be enthusiastically embraced by the community,” said Michael Raimondi , senior estimator at Hollister. n
