it. We must realize our weakness for only then do we experience Christ's strength. We should be more concerned about our own spiritual need, rather than judging someone else for their shortcom­ ings. The word of Cod does not al­ ways name questionable activities specifically. There is a great var­ iance in moral standards between generations as well as in different geographical sectors. Our final au­ thority must be such verses as I Cor. 8:13, realizing that we have a great responsibility to walk cir­ cumspectly in the world before all men. In Rom. 14:13-15ff. we see that two Christians may differ with one another as to certain principles which do not specifically relate to salvation. Here we are told that we should not condemn one another. There should rather be willingness to give up a practice for the sake of the weaker brother's conscience. Then, in the realm of the Spirit, the outward adherance to forms and habits means nothing along­ side of the positive evidences of Cod working in the inner man to produce righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom. 14: 16-18). A judgmental and censor­ ious attitude is not acceptable to God because they are in the realm of the mind, heart and spirit. The Bible has more to say against gos­ sip than some of the more gross sins people immediately think of in connection with immorality. Note the consideration we are to show in Christ when it comes to those who may be weaker in the faith (vrs. 20, 21). The secret to find a willingness in our hearts to live this way is the Page 40

realization that, "Whether we live therefore, or die, we belong to the Lord." If we grasped the signifi­ cance of this it would transform our lives. It would have a tremen-
