Red Cow Rally DNA Evaluation Campbell Red Angus participated in a research collaboration known as the Red Cow Rally, between RAAA and Neogen. By participating in this project, we increased the prediction accuracy of the animals within our herd and verified the parentage of our entire cow herd which allows us to verify both sire and dam for this year’s bull crop. In essence, every dam of the bulls in the sale will have a level of accuracy of most traits as if they already had 5 to 25 progeny. While genotyping is very informative to increase EPD accuracy, it will never replace the need to collect valuable phenotypic information. Both of these sources of data combine to provide the most accurate genetic evaluation. We reserve the right to retain 1/3 semen interest on any bull.
