El edificio se enmarca en un plan maestro que los arquitectos han venido realizando desde hace 10 años, cuyo objetivo principal ha sido cuidar el carácter del club, privilegiando la tranquilidad, calma y ritmo pausado en sus recorridos y actividades a la manera de un parque o jardín. Este carácter es su principal lujo, o como dice el escritor Patrick Deville en su novela Peste & Cólera, "el lujo significa calma". Los principales programas del club se desarrollan a lo largo de una cota o nivel de alrededor de 5 a 6 m por sobre la cancha de golf. Esta condición, otorgada por el cerro San Luis, se traduce en un paseo de borde que resulta de una suma de terrazas que, sin embargo, no miran al entorno inmediato del barrio El Golf. Justamente esto definió el objetivo arquitectónico del nuevo proyecto: que el mundo interior del club se asome al barrio, crear un balcón sobre la ciudad.
The building is part of a master plan the architects have been designing for 10 years, with the main purpose of preserving the character of the club, favoring tranquility, calm and a leisurely pace in its paths and activities in the manner of a park or garden. This character is its main luxury, or as writer Patrick Deville says in his novel Plague & Cholera, "luxury means calmness". The main programs of the club are developed at a level 5 to 6 m above the golf course. This condition, derived from the San Luis hill, results in a border promenade that is a sum of terraces, which however do not overlook the immediate surroundings of El Golf neighborhood. This is what defined the architectural objective of the new project: the inner world of the club peeks out towards the neighborhood, creating a balcony over the city.
