La especificación de los materiales se manejó estrictamente de acuerdo al requerimiento del uso universitario y de la sustentabilidad energética. El uso del cristal utilizado en la vertical para controlar el impacto de la radiación, el ahorro de iluminación y la fácil limpieza de las fachadas. La madera para los tratamientos acústicos de las aulas, del auditorio y el gimnasio. El granito y los porcelanatos para las circulaciones y el hormigón armado con su sistema pos-tensado como estructura para la flexibilidad y eficiencia del uso del espacio. Como materia se incluye también la luz natural, conducida especialmente para los niveles del subsuelo, a través de las vigas pos-tensadas del patio interior y las aberturas perimetrales que iluminan las aulas y los laboratorios de investigación y docencia.
The specification of materials was strictly handled according to the requirements of university use and energy sustainability. Glass was used to control the impact of radiation, lighting savings and easy cleaning of façades, wood for acoustic treatment of classrooms, auditorium and gymnasium, granite and ceramic porcelain tiles for circulations and the post tensioned reinforced concrete structure for a flexible and efficient use of space. Natural light is also conceived as a material, especially for the underground levels, enabled by the post-tensioned beams of the courtyard and the perimeter openings that illuminate the classrooms and the research and teaching laboratories.
