Dentro de la prolífica década de 1960 en la arquitectura chilena -en la cual se realizaron obras tan importantes como la Iglesia de los Benedictinos, la sede Cepal, el Edificio Copelec de Chillán y la Unidad Vecinal Portales- se destaca el trabajo de la oficina TAU (Taller de Arquitectura y Urbanismo), formada por cinco profesionales y profesores de la Universidad de Chile. Entre sus muchas obras, la mayoría ganada por concursos públicos, se analizan y describen en profundidad la Villa Olímpica (Santiago), la Remodelación Paicaví (Concepción) y la Facultad de Agronomía de la Universidad de Chile (Santiago). Destaca también su labor docente en la Universidad de Chile, su participación en la revista AUCA y en el Colegio de Arquitectos.

At the heart of the prolific decade of the 60’s in Chilean architecture – with such important works as the Benedictine Church, the ECLAC headquarters building, COPELEC of Chillán and the Portales Neighborhood Unit - the work of TAU (Taller de Arquitectura y Urbanismo) occupies an important place. Formed by five professionals and faculty of the University of Chile, among their many works, the majority commissions won in public competitions, we present the analyses and in depth description of the Olympic Village (Santiago), the Paicaví Residential Project (Concepción), and the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Chile (Santiago). Also worthy of mention are their academic careers at the University of Chile, as well as their participation in AUCA magazine and at the Association of Architects.
