La agrupación de pobladores Nuestros Anhelos, perteneciente a la población Yáñez Zabala, habitó en toma por más de 10 años estos terrenos. Con el paso del tiempo, el paño se fue transformando en un basural irregular, contaminando el frágil humedal que enfrenta, el cual es un ramal del Catrico, afluente estructurante de las aguas subterráneas de la ciudad de Valdivia. Como resultado, el lugar se convirtió en un foco de exclusión, estigmatización, inseguridad y deterioro para el entorno y sus habitantes. El proyecto de arquitectura se inició en estrecha coordinación con las familias habitantes, identificando sus anhelos y organizando prioridades. Se consideró esta dimensión como central, ya que permitiría fomentar la sostenibilidad de la propuesta en el tiempo. The Nuestros Anhelos community, belonging to the Yáñez Zabala subdivision, took over the site in a land occupation more than ten years ago. Over time, the plot became an informal garbage dump polluting the fragile wetlands it faces, a branch of the Catrico River, a structural groundwater tributary of the city of Valdivia. As a result, the place became a focus of exclusion, stigmatization, insecurity and damage to the environment and its inhabitants. The architectural project began in close coordination with the families, identifying their desires and organizing their priorities. This dimension was considered as central, as it would promote the future sustainability of the proposal.
