Persona Holiday 2019

Season’s Greetings from Sally Beauty and The tgin Foundation The tgin Foundation, a 501©(3) organization, was founded by Chris-Tia Donaldson, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36. During her treatment, she witnessed how having money could make the difference between living and dying. Chris-Tia created the tgin Foundation to advocate for uninsured women undergoing breast cancer treatment, as well as to raise greater awareness of breast cancer and healthy lifestyle changes in women under 40. tgin has a line of all-natural hair care products, sold at Sally Beauty . In addition to donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each limited edition pink Green Tea Super Moist Leave-in Conditioner to breast cancer-related research, the tgin Foundation created the following programs: (1) Pink Ambassador Program trains breast health advocates to interact with women at community events and offer guidance on everything from monthly self-exams to free mammogram resources. They speak directly to the unique health concerns of young women so that they feel empowered to be an advocate for their breast health! (2) The tgin Waiting Room Project is set to raise $50,000 to renovate a breast cancer oncology waiting room on the south side of Chicago. This powerful project will provide a more positive medical experience and optimistic outlook on patients’ health care FOCUS ON SALLY BEAUTY

journeys, and directly impact 25,000 breast cancer patients, families and staff. (3) An annual fundraiser, Cocktails for the Cure, the proceeds of which benefit uninsured women being treated at safety net hospitals that lack support needed for patients undergoing treatment. In the city of Chicago, black women are 42% more likely to die from breast cancer than the general population due primarily to socio- economic reasons (access to transportation, childcare, education, paid medical leave, etc.). Together, Sally Beauty and the tgin Foundation hope to champion accessible breast health related services in underserved communities.
