To unpack the complexity of the central research question— How did the US withdrawal from Afghanistan constitute a turning point in the emerging international order? —this study adopts the descriptive-analytical method, framed within John Mearsheimer’s theory of offensive realism. The aim is to investigate the drivers behind the shift in US strategic behaviour, with a specific focus on the geopolitical dimensions of the Eurasian space and strategic interplays in the Middle East.
