*BAROQUE FIGURE DRAWING OPEN STUDIO Saturday, February 8, 2 – 4 p.m. Sketch from a figure model in this free life- drawing class open to all levels. Models will be using dramatic poses reminiscent of the baroque period inspired by our exhibition “Beyond the Medici: The Haukohl Family Collection.” Dramatic lighting will be utilized as well as lots of draping and cloth. Drawing supplies will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own materials too. STUDIO WORKSHOP: STILL-LIFE PAINTING WITH AQUA OILS Thursday, March 13, 20 and 27, 6 – 8 p.m. Join teaching artist Kristen Ashley MacCarthy for a series of three studio-based painting classes. Inspired by the exhibition “The Awe of Ordinary Labors” and by other works in the museum’s permanent collection, the workshop will focus on techniques for making still-life paintings using aqua oils. Open to artists of all levels and experience; $30; register at https://bit.ly/still-life-class. FIGURE DRAWING OPEN STUDIO Saturday, April 12, 2 – 4 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 6 – 8 p.m. Sketch from a live model in this free, drop- in life-drawing class open to all levels. Drawing supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own materials. HAND BUILDING CERAMICS WORKSHOP Thursday, May 1, 6 – 9 p.m. Dive into hand building ceramics with local teaching artist Sierra Kirsche of Full Circle Studio. Participants explore the museum’s collection, come up with their own ideas for a design and bring their idea to life. They will return to the museum to take home their fired ceramic work after the workshop. All materials will be provided. Available in both English and Spanish, they include gallery activities, art supplies and looking prompts that can be completed at your own pace. These self-guided tours are free and perfect for a family visit. Recommended for ages 5 – 14.

*CREATIVE AGING SEATED YOGA Thursday, January 9, March 6, May 8, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Join us in the galleries for gentle seated yoga led by Raquel Durden. This class will include restorative stretching, deep breathing and mindfulness. All levels and abilities are welcome. Creative Aging programs are geared to ages 55+. MORNING MINDFULNESS Friday, January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, May 2, 9:30 – 10 a.m. Come rest and recharge in the galleries surrounded by inspiring art. Experienced mindfulness instructors lead guided meditations, gentle movements and slow- looking techniques. This program is free, stools are provided and no experience or special attire is needed. YOGA IN THE GALLERIES Thursday, January 16, February 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, 6 p.m. Join us for a free yoga class surrounded by works of art in the galleries. Led by instructors from Five Points Yoga, this program is free and open to both beginner and experienced yogis. Sanitized mats are provided. Space is limited and spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis; tickets are available at the lobby desk starting at 5:15 p.m. *CREATIVE AGING ART WORKSHOP Tuesday, January 21, February 18, April 22, 10 – 11:30 a.m. Lifelong learning through the arts offers opportunities to practice creativity and create community. Join teaching artist Toni Carlucci in the galleries to look at and talk about art in the permanent collection, then come to the studio classroom to make art and new friends. All levels are welcome. Creative Aging programs are geared to ages 55+.
