OPENING CEREMONY - TORCH RUN:

Beginning at Akron-Canton Airport (CAK), the Torch Run will follow a predetermined 10 mile route ending within the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH for the Warrior Games Opening Ceremony. The Torch will be passed every quarter mile with intentional stops at pop-up CVS, T-Mobile, and other sponsor locations. Prior to the torch run, the USVCC and the Hall, will identify “Champions” of the local community to participate in the Torch Run. “Champions” will be comprised of active military, veterans, volunteers, first responders, community leaders, teachers, etc. and will have their stories shared via public relations. Golf carts will be provided for "Champions" unable to physically participate. The Torch Run will begin with a Senior DoD official at CAK and finish with wounded warrior runners from each military branch in Canton, OH. Calderon will be lit by Bud Bucha (USVCC), Ken Fisher (Honorary Chair), David Baker (HOF), and Roger Goodell (NFL). CLOSING CEREMONY - WARRIOR GAMES ULTIMATE CHAMPION : During the Warrior Game’s closing ceremony, the USVCC and the Pro Football Hall of Fame will for the first time ever, honor the "Warrior Games Ultimate Champion". A plaque with the names will be hung within the Pro Football Hall of Fame which is home to the 346 greatest NFL players of all time, and the Hall will be designated as a location for the everlasting honor to be bestowed upon the ultimate athlete champion in each year of the Warrior Games competition. These athletes will stand alongside the greatest of all NFL players inside the hallowed halls of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This all-new celebration of the Ultimate Champion of the Warrior Games will be a part of the medal awards during the closing ceremony to take place on the stage of Tom Benson Hall of Stadium.
