Facility Management Chairman’s Message

Warmest greetings to members and partners of The Grassroots’ Club.

It is my honour and privilege to be part of The Grassroots’ Club family and being part of the Building and Facility Committee, we have conducted regular inspection and assess the condition of The Grassroots’ Club to ensure that it is in a clean and proper condition; and most importantly, ensuring that the Club is well-maintained and safe for all users. The Building and Facility team carried out regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality of the Club. Apart from the regular maintenance, the team has adopted proactive maintenance approach to minimise any potential or surprise breakdown of equipment. This is to achieve operational efficiency and avoid operation disruption to the Club. Recently the Club has announced the expiry of the lease period of The Grassroots’ Club and the closure of Club in 3rd quater of 2025. Nonetheless, please be assured that the maintenance programme will be carried out to ensure the physical integrity and appeal of the Club as we continue to bring positive experience and enjoyment of the Club to all members.

PAST EVENTS

September - Digital Talk (28 September 2024)

October - Pickleball (15 October 2024 to 5 November 2024) With the rising number of digital scam cases, our members participated in an enlightening anti-scam digital workshop in the month of September. Attendees of the workshop gained practical knowledge and confidence in recognizing and preventing various online scams. The engaging speaker guided them through interactive presentations, sharing real-life scam examples and the latest tactics used by cybercriminals. Participants actively took part in live demonstrations, identifying phishing attempts and fraudulent websites. They practised using scam-spotting tools and learned safety tips for online transactions, social media interactions, and email security. By the end of the workshop, attendees felt empowered to share this knowledge with their loved ones, helping protect others from online fraud.

Due to the overwhelming response from the pickleball trial class, the club brought back pickleball lessons for its members. Within the four lessons, the participants were able to grasp the fundamentals of this unique sport with the atmosphere being energetic and supportive, filled with laughter, encouragement, and joy playing alongside fellow members. As the members became more advanced, mini-games were introduced to allow everyone to test their skills in a friendly match, leaving participants energized and eager for more pickleball action.

November - Wellness Day (13 November 2024)

Recognizing the importance of proactive health and well-being, the club introduced Wellness Day as a way for members to easily access essential health resources and expert advice. Participants of Wellness Day enjoyed a rewarding experience with a focus on their health and well-being. Attendees took advantage of free basic health screenings, gaining valuable insights into their current health status, and many appreciated the informative talks from health experts, which provided practical tips on maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Affordable health screening packages were also available, making it convenient for members to take proactive steps in monitoring their health. The event fostered a positive atmosphere, encouraging community members to prioritise wellness in a supportive and engaging environment.
