FAO is actively using IDEA to support livelihood recovery and promotion in nine major food crisis countries: Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Mozambique, Uganda and Ukraine. In 2023, FAO aims to continue to strengthen, develop and expand the use of the IDEA system by FAO country offices to reinforce beneficiary management and assistance delivery by achieving the following outputs: 1) a light version of IDEA to be developed to facilitate more autonomous use by country offices; 2) as a complement to the new Manual Section 704 governing the use of vouchers, countries to be supported to deploy electronic vouchers through IDEA; and 3) the deployment of IDEA in three additional countries.
