Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S)
More data are provided by the cooperation between FAO and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), which combines observations of the climate system with the latest science to develop authoritative, quality-assured information about the past, current and future states of the climate in Europe and worldwide. Additionally, C3S provides key indicators on climate change drivers, such as carbon dioxide and impacts, for example reducing glaciers. The aim of these indicators will be to support European adaptation and mitigation policies in several sectors. The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) operates C3S on behalf of the European Union and will bring together expertise from across Europe to deliver the service. Collaboration with Mississippi State University on digital agriculture FAO and Mississippi State University, the United States of America, renewed their Memorandum of Understanding in October 2022. In the next five years, under this framework, FAO will enhance informatics and technologies for sustainable agrifood systems through knowledge transfer in the areas of geosciences (GIS and remote sensing), artificial intelligence, precision agriculture and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
