MAY BIG SCREEN MOVIES
On the first Saturday of every month the Ukulele Fight Club (UFC) plays for us at 10:00 a.m. in the Fireside Room. They play a wide variety of tunes, mostly popular ones that we all know and love. They bring a happy, uplifting energy to Timber Ridge every time they’re here, and we have so much fun! Dancing and sing- ing along are highly encouraged, so if you have some new moves or high notes you’d like to show off, you know just where to go! All friends and family members are wel- come to attend. The ukulele is a small, four-stringed instrument, is easy for people to learn and play. It originated in Hawaii and has been a part of Hawaiian culture since the late 1800s. Ukulele means "jumping flea" in Hawaiian, referring to the quick finger movements of players. There are different sizes of ukuleles, including soprano, concert, tenor, and baritone, making it fun and accessible for various players.

The word "ukulele" is pronounced "oo-koo- lay-lay" Playing the ukulele can improve coordination, concentration, and even boost the immune system due to reduced stress levels. Whatever the benefits we sure enjoy the UFC Ukulele players and look forward to their music every month,
