11. Take a lead role in delivering the University’s space management strategy to optimise the use of space ensuring it meets University needs and provides effective learning, teaching and research environments which have a positive impact on student experience and University life. 12. Ensure all managed services meet all statutory compliance requirements of current legislation and that the university is prepared to respond to foreseeable future legislative changes. 13. Support the Director and co-own and develop the institution wide land and buildings asset management strategy covering all sales and acquisitions protecting the universities position and maximising value. Additional Key Requirements: Managing People and Resources Manage teams of specialist professional and technical staff. Manage external contracts. Manage budgets and resources including oversight of capital project budgets. Communication Communicate complex, sometimes contentious information to a wide variety of audiences in order to influence, achieve change where necessary and achieve results. Undertake significant negotiations on behalf of the University. Actively engage diverse stakeholder groups. Represent the University in key external networks. Teamwork and collaborative working Maintain positive, productive and mutually beneficial relationships with estates and facilities staff, and colleagues in Faculties and professional services departments. Ensure estates and facilities teams work effectively with colleagues across the University and Initiative, problem solving and decision making Have a lead role in Estates strategy and directly influence University decisions through providing professional expertise on a wide range of estates matters and lead or participate in relevant programme boards, working groups, committees and consultations. Work environment Ensure health and safety arrangements are embedded in policies, procedures and working practices throughout estates and facilities. Ensure that appropriate risk management processes are operational within own areas of responsibility.
