meet your Junior Board HOW DID YOU ORIGINALLY GET EXPOSED TO SUFFOLK SHEEP? My grandparents are Suffolk breeders, so we always visited the barns while we were there. WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FONDEST MEMORIES RELATED TO SUFFOLK SHEEP? One of my favorite memories is playing Uno with my friends at the All-American. WHY WERE YOU INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THE UJSSA BOARD? This board allows me to gain connections in the Suffolk community. It has also provided the opportunity for me to make friends from around the country. It’s also an amazing opportunity to build skills that will benefit me as I become an adult. WHAT’S ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH A NEW JUNIOR MEMBER? I would advise them to keep going and raise the type of sheep that works for their flock. You are going to attend a show that doesn’t go well. Remember that each judge has their own opinion and there will always be other shows and other judges. OUTSIDE OF SUFFOLK SHEEP, WHAT OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE YOU INVOLVED IN? I enjoy playing golf, I am a member in my FFA chapter, and I play bass clarinet in my school’s band. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHEEP “JOB”? I love feeding the bottle lambs in the winter. They always have so much energy and are so excited to be fed. WHAT IS ONE THING SOMEONE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU? People would be surprised to know that I have traveled to 28 states, visiting five national parks along the way. IF YOU COULD INVENT SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE OR DO? If I could invent something, it would be self-washing dishes. Dirty dishes multiply like crazy in our house, so it would be nice not having to do them daily.
