FACEBOOK CONTEST ONGOING THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2025 LIKE AND FOLLOW THE UJSSA FACEBOOK PAGE TO PARTICIPATE! 1. Download, print and cut out Unity and glue a popsicle or paint stick to the back side of the cut out 2. A Travelin’ Unity theme will be posted on the UJSSA Facebook Page 3. Open to current UJSSA members 4. UJSSA members are encouraged to submit multiple entries per theme! We’re always interested to see where Unity is today! 5. Up to 3 winners will be selected at random per theme, prizes will be awarded.
The UJSSA is looking for the best recipe that reflects the heritage and traditions unique to the Junior Chef’s culture or the region of the country all while featuring Suffolk Lamb. Will You Be our First Winner? Junior Members here is your chance to share your culinary ability, knowledge and expertise featuring their family’s favorite traditional lamb recipe or one that has been adapted to their local A: Video: Entrants must submit a Video that is 2 to 5 minutes, depicting the preparation of a recipe in a kitchen setting — or alternate venue (at a grill, countertop, stove, outdoors, etc.) — in a single, original presentation, referencing the source of the recipe, including any additional details associated with the recipe. If the recipe has been locally customized for local ingredients, or is a regional recipe, be sure to explain that. Videos must: or regional fare. 1. HOW TO ENTER • Be uploaded onto YouTube in any format acceptable to YouTube B: Submission Application: The Submission Form requests an essay up to 250 words telling the story of this recipe and why it was submitted, Entrants will submit the official recipe used to prepare the dish. Entrants must submit an image of the completed dish — a jpeg attachment to the submission form is required. 2. EVAULATION Videos will be judged on the following: • 10% - Demonstrated knowledge, skills and familiarity in working with food, subject matter and understanding of the idea/subject • 5% - Ability to present all ideas clearly within the allotted time, enunciating well • 5% -Use of the camera frame and setting the stage — ensures that Entrant and/or close-ups are in focus and clear and video matches what Entrant is saying • 5%: - Telegenic appeal — appearance and how well the Entrant engages with the audience: looks at camera, smiles, dresses appropriately, demonstrates • Be the Entrant’s original work • Be Up to 5 Minutes in length
virtual Skill-a-Thon ENTRY DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1, 2025
1. Must be a current UJSSA member. 2. Contest forms are electronic, and a link will be posted on the UJSSA website under the “Youth” tab by September 1. 3. There will be a senior (ages 13-21) and junior (ages 12 and under) quiz. 4. Submit completed electronic form by November 1, 2025. 5. Prizes will be award to the top two placings in each of the following age groups: Age 7 and under • Age 8-12 • Age 13-16 • Age 17-21

AWARDS & CATEGORIES There will be 2 age divisions 9-14 and 15-21. A first ($300) and second ($150) place winner will be selected in each age division. Amazon gift cards will be awarded for Best Culinary Photo, Best Use of Suffolk Lamb and Best Regional Dish.
